Need to take my own advice and "Show Up"

.
Wow! I can't believe that it's been a month since I wrote anything. I guess I need to take my own advice and "Show Up".

2009 has been hard for me. I had bronchitis for a month. Then my heal spurs recurred. I bought new shoes and my feet are still killing me. (Any advice on that would be welcomed!) Then I hurt my back. That has been hurting me for a week now. I feel like the walking wounded.

I've thought about several different posts in the last month but nothing has really occurred that I have been passionate about. I’ve been working long days. I’ve been going in at normal time in the morning and then working until my daughter finishes soccer practice. She loves playing goalie. Her team is 5 -2 -1.

I just started another graduate class. I’m taking school finance this term. This class lasts until May. Then I’m taking off until the fall.

I guess the main thing I’ve been focusing on is the idea of praying continually and trying to give thanks no matter what. These ideas come from I Thessalonians. These are not always the easiest ideas to act on. It’s hard to give thanks when you don’t feel well or when you are in pain. I just have to believe that there is some reason for it.

The other verse that comes to mind is the idea that God uses all things in our lives for good. (Romans 8:28) Sometimes we don’t see the good now but we can look back on situations later in life and understand why they happened.

I Thessalonians 5:16 – 18 “Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.”

Romans 8:28 “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”
