Hakuna Matata

Can’t sleep …….. thought I’d journal for awhile…

I start using Microsoft Live Write to write these.  If you haven’t seen it, and you blog – you need to check it out.

Hakuna Matata …..

It’s my problem-free philosophy …. (remember the song from the Lion King.)

Does that really exist?  I read that Hakuna Matata translated from the original Swahili means “there are no worries here.”

Philippians 4:6-7 “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God...shall guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus"

So what do you think …… should a Christian’s motto be Hakuna Matata …..

"And which of you by being anxious can add a single cubit to his life's span?  If then you cannot do even a very little thing, why are you anxious about other matters?  (Luke 12:25-26, NASB).

We worry because we are trying to take God's business into our own hands. We are worried about results, timing, jobs, finances, acceptance, etc., but God has made Himself responsible for all of these things and lots more.

God has his fingers on the very details on my life.  He cares about everything I am going through.  I need His perspective on life.  I need my focus on Him.  I need to leave worries in His hands.

So, for now, Hakuna Matata ……. (and good night)

Carol, good thoughts! I also learned something. I didn't know "Hakuna Matata" was from a real language. Now I do.

Thanks Jack. Most of my postings are directly tied to things I struggle with or am studying or thinking about. Giving up worrying is a tough one.
