How Spiritual Are We?

.
Parade magazine ran an article titled, "How Spiritual Are We?"
Included in this article were the following statistics:

69% of Americans believe in God
50% say they rarely or never attend worship services
59% said all religions were valid
12% said their own religion was the only true faith
82% said they would marry someone from a different faith

These statistics help us see the sad situation our country is in.

If all religions were valid then why bother believing at all. Surely there has to be one that is right. After all many of these religions have mutually exclusive beliefs. They can't all be right.

If you believe the Bible then there is only one option. It is divinely inspired and the only source of truth. There is only one way to heaven.

Jesus is the only way to salvation because He is the only One who can take care of our sin problem. (Romans 6:23) No other religion offers a payment for sin. A payment that was made once and for all. Jesus was God and became man. (John 1:1) Jesus had to be God so he could pay our debt. He had to be man so he could die. Christianity is the only religion where God reaches out to man and provides a way of salvation. There is nothing a man can do to earn his way into heaven. (Ephesians 2:8-9)

Romans 6:23 "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."

John 1:1-3 "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made."

Ephesians 2:8-9 "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-- not by works, so that no one can boast."

John 14:6 "Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."

John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."

Matthew 7:13 "Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it."

John 17:3 "Now this is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent."

Acts 4:12 "Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.”
